Peter's Bio

Peter Tarwid

Peter Tarwid was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. His father, Richard J. Tarwid,
started a small construction business in 1951 which was passed on to Peter upon his
fatherʼs death.

Peter owned, grew and operated the company for over 2 decades before
retiring from Tarwid Structural Repairs to pursue a happier, more fulfilling lifestyle that
supports his creative life interests.

Peter now lives in Ajijic on Lake Chapala in Mexico, where he pursues his love of photography, videomaking and philanthropy. When not working on the 100GKU Project he enjoys kayaking, hiking, swimming, travel, and learning Spanish.

Meet Peter Doin' Good!

Peter Doin' Good serves as the "Campus Philanthropist" for 100GKU at www.100GoldenKeys.com and oversees video production. He also  administers 100GKUʼs Charitable Fund, which is funded primarily through Peter's own donations.

Children at Operation Compassion in AijijicIn this very personal series, Peter takes you into the “heart of the village” as he contributes his personal time, money and talent to serving the local Mexican community. Through donating weekly deliveries of meat and poultry to the local family food kitchen, providing shoes and school supplies to needy children, and helping at-risk animals of the village, Peter will show you the many up-close and personal ways that one person can make a difference in the world. He also captures humorous or unusual things he finds along the way in photos and video.

100GKUʼs Charitable Fund has been possible primarily through Peter's personal donations, but as the Project moves forward we will accept donations from other sources, including 100GKU. All monies go directly to paying for items such as food and emergency assistance for needy families in the local Lake Chapala/Ajijic community in Mexico, or to provide care for animals. No salaries or other administrative costs are paid from the Charitable Fund.

You wonʼt want to miss this cool course that demonstrates just how easy it is to make a difference in the world around you. Peterʼs videos and blog posts will reveal glimpses into a world few people have the opportunity to see.

You Exist - So Live a Happy Life Already! The odds of your life actually existing are as close to infinity as you can imagine. A Street Dog's Life I love watching the street dogs down here in the village of Ajijic in Mexico, where I live. It didn't occur to me before moving here that dogs in different parts of the world behave differently - and yet they are universally the same. Some dogs are fearful or aggressive, and others kick back in the shade and enjoy the day regardless of what's going on around them....Read More
